Summertime at Powers Church

SUMMER SERVICES: Enjoy the 1876 atmosphere at three nondenominational summer services held on the fourth Sunday evening of June, July and August. Each service includes a musical program and a devotional talk by an area pastor.

All services start at 7:00 PM.
June 26, 7:00 PM: We are happy to have Mark and Stephen Kays, also known as Y2K, joining us again this year for an evening of rousing gospel music. Blake Stevenson, Family Ministry Director of the Angola United Methodist Church, and a dedicated member of the Powers Church Committee, will provide the devotions for the service.

July 24, 7:00 PM: We are also glad to have the Pokagon Pitchpipers, a joyful and very talented barbershop group that has blessed us with gospel music in the barbershop style for many years. Jeremy Jones, pastor of the Columbia Church of Christ, will give the devotions.

August 28, 7:00 PM: We are also blessed to have the Little River Chapter of the Sweet Adelines who have provided amazing programs at the church for almost 40 years. Mike Hestermam, pastor of the Metz Christian Church, will provide the devotions for the service. All summer services will be followed with ice cream from Sharon Crager and the Old York Church members, or from the members of the Metz Christian Church.

November 27, 3:00 PM: Bundle up and enjoy our Christmas Service at the church. This service includes a reading of the Christmas story in the King James version and congregational singing of traditional Christmas Carols. Do not miss this inspiring celebration of our shared Christian heritage. Hot cider and cookies will follow the service. Dress warmly; the church is not heated.
